Advocacy by Afghan Refugees for Inviting Mr. Nasseri to Pakistan
Number of Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan, in an effort to have their voices heard by international organizations, have formally appealed to the United States government to allow Mr. Mohammad Saber Naseri to travel to Pakistan. They have also requested that, if possible, the Afghanistan–America Relations Office assume responsibility for coordinating with the United Nations office, which is currently managed by the SHARP organization.
This comes after several months during which groups of Afghan refugees in Islamabad have held a protest movement in Argentina Park, demanding that their voices be heard, calling for an end to the deportation of refugees from Pakistan, and urging the relocation of eligible individuals to safer countries.
Recently, Ustad Faiz, who was serving as a representative of this movement, was detained by the Pakistani government. However, through the persistent efforts of the refugees and follow-ups by Mr. Naseri, he was released.
This advocacy effort continues, and the refugees hope that their voices will reach the international community and that Mr. Naseri will be able to travel to Pakistan as a representative of the Afghan people to support and assist them.
